Congress discovers Youtube
Mainstream politicians have discovered (if not yet mastered) the potential of Youtube as a way to reach their constituents. Watch this somewhat awkward video that introduces Congress to youtube, for example, or go to HouseHub or SenateHub to follow specific Congress members on line.
Welcome to US Government!
Welcome everyone! It's going to be a great semester. I can't wait to get started.
One thing you should start doing is paying attention to current events. I expect you to read some news source every day. I've set up news feed for four potential sources on this page: an aggregator from the National Constitution Center, polling news from the Pew Research Center, The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Other good options include the Christian Science Monitor, the Washington Post, and, for an international perspective, BBC News.
To get a running start on the semester, I also encourage you to read Chapter 1 in Wilson and DiIulio, American Government, 2-15. This is the assignment due for Sept. 9 (the second day of school).
